Blogging again
I can't believe I haven't been blogging for 2 years. I have graduated from AFTC with sword of Merit, best trainee of 5th AWO. I got my 1st validated position on 2 Aug 2011. My 2nd position on 4 Sep 2012. Now I am training my 3rd position and hopefully get it by Jul. Also had our c/s initiated. MAJ Peh insisted not giving me RAINBOW. so I had SKITTLES. Not too bad also. Even now I being closer to the PSG, can joke with them more openly. So during one of the junior's welcome party, I complaint that MAJ Peh didn't give me what I want and I still rmb. hahahaa...
2 years in 203 SQN have been wonderful. I like what I am doing, I kana of enjoy my job, less the secondary positions. Managing of nsmen is quite a huge portfolio and makes me really busy. Sometime I even feel that there is a weekend for me cos I am still working. But I am getting the hang of it and I heard this portfolio is going to other branch liao!! yeah...
There is too many things to write for 2 years. I really don't know where to start. Randomly remembering them and jotting it down now.
Went to Taiwan with Cheryl and Yaoming in dec 2012. Lots of fun. They wear 4 clothes to keep warm, I only needed 2-3, yet I had the biggest luggage. So ironic... One of the ming shu got quite bad showering facilitites. Not so bad that we cannot bath, just interesting bathing. It is like a kid with emotion. Sometimes big, sometimes small... sometimes hot, sometimes cold. And I kana it for 3 days. Yao didn't experience it and Cheryl sometimes. So I guess I am the unlucky one. Cheryl also had her finger giap and she didn't complain. Amazed!! dip her finger into ice cream and it is as if scolding the international language. I smuggled comic bag too and all our luggage became super overweight and we had to spend another $500 for the excess.. *painful* Other than that, you can see fb pictures to recap.
My sis is getting married. WH proposed to her during our diving trip in nov 2012. Cheryl last min joined us when bball yaoming pang seh and i managed to psyco her in time. Yy, yy's sis, diana and erin and the usual gang joined in the fun. It was really fun when 5 of us went for AOWD. 1st time during shore dive and we were like overturned turtle. hahaha... Had a funny proposal underwater and delicious bbq dinner with fire works. Bok's wife venus, taught some phototaking skills to me and i enjoyed the shots of the stars, moon and fireworks. =) Now Cheryl is also addicted to diving and will be joining us for more of it. =)
Too lazy to upload the pictures. Don't think anyone is following my blog anymore. hahaha.. but if you still do, pictures can be found in fb and I promise to write more the next time. =)

RCGC and RCGC Dining in
16 Jun 2011, Thurs
Tdy is my RCGC day.. Really exciting.. 10 Jun was our certificate day. Apparently, after slacking for abt 2mths, these few weeks were the busy days. Rehearsing and preparing to packed up and move to OCS. Certification day wasn't too bad. Just that I have o do few more rounds of walking up the stairs more cos I did it in a robotic manner. If you were there, you will see 90% of the award winners from AWO course have to practise more. hahahaa... So on top of re-doing my normal certificate presentation, I have to go up again to collect my award.
RCGC was more of a bigger event. 3 days of rehearsal. 1st day of rehearsal, was terrible. So many pple, supper bored and sleepy. The following days, it got better, or shld be say we got smarter. We brought books, magazine, itouch or fully charged hps to the rehearsal to keep ourselves entertained. =) And as usual, I just have to do extras. hahahaa.. =p CMI!!! Then the SOH have extra things to do. There is this airforce spirit thing, and Say kiet can do it exceptionally well with his loud and clear voice. "BLUE, symbolises the sky that we are protecting" super funny.
After sword presentation, we have to rehearsal for dining in too. It is a formal dinner. So formal that we cannot eat b4 the Big big big big big big boss (Chief of Staff, Air Staff); the guys must help the girls pull the chair; cannot go toilet (go must ask permission); cannot anyhow make noise with the utensils. Super FINE dinning!! Alcohol is served. My table is in front of the VIP table and I am seated near CCWO and some 'crab pple'. So stressful! Then during rehearsal, don't know why the MCee sat near my table to rehearsal. As my partner (chong) is finding way for him to pull and push in the chair nicely for me, CPT Kang keep scolding me for not allowing Chong to pull the chair for me. Say I tomboysih!! Wah... stress!!!
During the actual ceremony, everything seems to be fast forward. Didn't feel the dragginess. ahhahaa... Maybe b'cos too nervous. Esp when the girls are wearing #2 which is a long dress. I really very scare I tripped on the carpet/ the shoes/ the dress while walking. Thank goodness, everything was ok!! Lots of photos were taken. It felt great!! Cheryl Chan and I went thru all and we fulfilled our promised!! WE ARE AWO C3 CONTROLLERS...
We said good bye to our family and proceed to lvl 2 for dinner. During dinner, we have to keep a look out to see if COS ate his meal 1st; clap hands when the band finish a song. And cheers to the colours and president. The PMC will go "Mr VICE (youngest cadet), the colours." Mr VICE will then say "Ladies and Gentlemen (we will stand), To the Airforce/colours/ president." We will echo "The airforce/colours/the president" And James always caught me at awkward moments. Eg, when the band finish the song, we were suppose to clap our hands, I was drinking my soup half way. Awkwardly I have to finish it and put down the spoon and clap too. And don't know if I am sensitive to the music or what, most of the time I am the one initiating the clap. So he will look at me for que or sth. And since, I faced COS, the table will take the QUE from me to start eating.
After dinning in, we will have kangaroo court. Where you can placed any charges against anyone and the PMC (judge) will determine who shld be punished and will drink a pool of water mixed with the different alcohol. So all the funny stuff that happens during individual course or in the bunk were all dug out and exposed. Andy chrg Tanky for acting cute with his Domo Kun and always used DK to disturb him. He called for witness and we al stand. Then b4 the actual RCGC started, LTA Alvin offered to give the girls a ride to Airforce museum. Along the way, we met the Par guys and kang yu insisted to squeeze into the car with the girls. So during kangaroo court, LTA Alvin, pressured me to charge KY, but I didn't want to. So I delayed. He then told CPT Kang abt it. As a result, 2 of them keep pressuring me. Initially CPT Kang wanted to throw tissue at me for not chrging KY. Slowly, she wants to throw water bottle and then anything on the table. So I had no choice but to place a charge on KY. And the moment I did that, I know my retribution will come. True enough, my coursemate James charged me for being 'disrepectful' to instructor for calling CPT johnny, Siao eh... Even called for witness, and all of my coursemate stand, even Cheryl. Wah!!! No choice, drink. And b'cos it involved instructors, I drank 2 cups. Poor cheryl Lim was sabo by her coursemate to drink. She drank abt 7-8 cups that night. Elliot had lots of cup too. Ow was charged for always being late and we all stand to witness that. And when andy was being charged which I can't rmb clearly what it was, he went up and said "Red (our drink) symbolises..." and drank it. PMC went "hmm.. I also want to know what red symbolises." So andy took his 2nd cup and said "Red symbolises... ANG JIU!!" wahahaha.. Funny guy...
The whole event ended ard 0000. CPT Jeremy gave us a ride back to AFTC. The girls bathed and packed up. Lim went outside to talk to her bf. Chan and I talked cok till 0300 b4 falling asleep. The next day, we had to wake up for breakfast and be ready to go back to OCS.
Don't know what happened to the co-ordination with the bus company, we waited for more than 1hr b4 we hopped onto the bus. Everybody totally knocked out on the bus.
On a side note, we had an unfortunate event that thurs morning. Ivan was OOC that very morning when he got his medical result. A fews back when we were attached to SATCC, he saw flashes of light/ a period of darkness during his live controlling. So he reported and got his eye check. It turns out that his eyes were fine but the nerves system wasn't. So due to medical reason, he was Out of course. SAD event though. He wore his #2 to witness the ceremony but didn't get to hold his sword. =(

It was so so so... close...
5th May 2011, Thurs
I made it!!! I ran and broke my own best timing, 12:40. Unbelievable. Don't ask me how I did it? I have no idea too. All I knew was, my throat very itchy, I want to cough, but cannot cos will break my breathing rhythm; I must run within 2min every round. This was all in my head. 2 min, 2 min, 2 min.... and I did it!!! I ran a gold timing!!! Shag, but not as shag at last week. And thank goodness, in time for pre-SOH selection! =)
Went back to bunk, received an sms from Mr S. "Well done. With your Gold, u r now the Best Trainee for ATC, hope u will win the SOH 2molo."
Stun by the sms, I replied "wahahaa.. I am half dead..." Guess what his reply was again... "Thank God u r still alive."
So, for the 1st time in my life, I am achieving one of the best thing. All my life, I was nv close into achieving the best. This time round, I am only 1 step away from it.
6th May 2011, Friday
SOH selection. In the morning, went into OC's room for some chit-chat. Can't believe that I have to talk so much with my most sexiest voice. He sort of get me prepared for the interview later in the afternoon. I was kinda of relax. Being part of the selection was already a bonus. I nv expected myself to be in such a position. hahaa.. So, be contented and 'ping chang xin' to deal with it.
I enjoyed the interview, though there are plenty of crabs in front of me. I think I answered the qn not too bad. As usual, they are laughing.. After my interview, it was Shuan's turn. I went back to class to wait for the ans. Not long, I was told to go meet CO.
Just outside his office, he told us to wait for him in the office while he finish his conversation with sb else. Inside the office, Shuan was nervous. And apparently, I wasn't feeling so tense. Since, I cldn't start a small talk with him, I looked ard the room and started reading the newspaper.
Finally, CO came and had a chit-chat. He said both of us did well and it was a difficult decision and so on... The same politically right conversation before announcing the winner. Along the way, somehow, I don't know how, I knew the winner was Shuan. There is this little part of me that wishes it is me. I once imagined myself as the SOH and how my family will be so proud of me. O Well~ The result is out, Shuan is the SOH. Honesty, I don't know why I wld lose to him. Maybe cos I was late boomer. hmmm.. If i had started studying so hard and like him, going for all kind of scholarship, I might lose out to him. But anyway, I will go ask OC why I lost for self-reflection.
But if you ask me, Do you think he deserved it? I have my reserved. Not that I sour grapes or jealous, just that I know the real reason why he signed on. He once told the intervieweer that if he don't get the highest scholarship offered by SAF, he will resign. So to me, he is just making use of SAF to get away from ARMY, joined the more relax one (RSAF) and not to waste his NS life, so he signed on. Sign on as C3, at the same time get paid, serve NS and then use the scholarship to study. After the bond is due, he is gg out into the big privatized world. RSAF nurtured him and...
And if you ask me, "Wld you take his lead?" Sorry.. No. He is not a leader, I will look up to.. He has to proved more.
Anyway... Best Trainee isn't too bad. =) At least, I don't have to do all the 'pet talking' during commissioning. But then, ATC once again lost to wpn, which is argghhh~ Let hope the next batch of ATC will fight back out glory. =)

SOH Nominees
It was a happy occasion when I heard I was one of the SOH nominees. Tue, 26th April, Ym and I were running ard the school to look for Mr E for lappie. 1st attempt to the office, Mr E not ard. Met with ME4 Thana and have a little chat and bump into OC. He pointed at us and said "come to my office when you all are done." *jaw drop*
So we went to look for CO. Thought will be very stressful. But turn out to be quite ok. Sort of hint hint us that we might be the higher scorer but he says maybe, cos he haven't read the scores yet. Anyway, we hear and forget, cos IPPT very impt. Once again, it was emphasized. No gold no talk.
2nd attempt to the office. This time to CO office to transfer file. But before that, I went to the instructor's office to get the lappie. I open door, heard a loud laughter. My instructors and OC were talking abt ym and me when I just happened to enter. *Stun* Mr S. knew I was busy transferring files, told me to look for him after that. *jaw drop*
After lots of trouble, we finally transferred the files over to a stand-alone lappie. Head over to Mr S's room. He said "both of you, the score very close. Differ by a few decimal. So boss, decided. Whoever get gold tmr (wed ippt day), will be up for SOH board. I have told your class too." *jaw drop*
So happy right... Whether got sword or not, I also happy. Get nominated, I already very contented. My dad said this "if you had studied so hard when you are younger, you will be scholar now." hahaha..
But this happiness, didn't last long. Wed 27th Apr, I am so upset. Well, the day start off great. Everything was in the scoring of GOLD. I am only left with running. 12:59 is all I need to run. Then, ym, injured his back, he cldn't do the min sit-up for gold. So I had a great chance. But, another news came. Mr S say if neither of us get gold, wpn will get the SOH. Now, all the ATC pride lies on my shoulder. We cannot just walk over like that. We have to have at least have a fight. Even lose, also won't regret. How can we walk over. I wanted the gold even more. I am the only hope left. All that was in my head was, I have to get gold.
This was my worst run ever. Super tired. Every round, I keep telling myself, I cannot slow down. I have to run faster. No more time left. I am late. I have to get gold. for ATC pride. My legs are tired. My windpipe is burning. I am feeling unwell. Extra energy used. Instructors shouting "keep the pace and you can make it". I cannot disappoint them. I feel like vomitting. I cannot stop. My legs are giving way. I cannot stop. I didn't have enough energy to sprint for the last 100m. I crossed the line, fall flat on the ground.
A female instructor came to give me a hand. Accompanied me to the chair. I see stars. I am utterly upset. I knew I didn't make it. I felt terrible. I keep telling others I am fine, but I wasn't. I was still able to make my way to the grass patch to vomit. ha.. funny right. hahaa.. I still can plan the route to take to the grass patch. Why didn't I use the drain? cos pple are near it, it might smell. So many things were in my head. There is still a demo to do; emcee to do; So I keep saying I am ok.
Went back to bunk and wash up. I fight away my disappointment and tears. My body temperature was shooting high. I was sneezing all the way. I keep telling myself, I am ok. Went to the simulator room, with my packet of tissue, ym and I waited for the Col. to come. Instructors asked if I am feeling better. All I cld say I am ok.
In the afternoon, commander's airtime. Emcee... sneeze.. Emcee... sneeze.. Thank god, the respond was great. Everyone enjoyed it very much. =) A little comforting for me. Sigh...
Now I am down with flu, cough and sore throat. Run till vomit, also no gold. Waste time, waste energy. I am tired from the run. Is it wrong to think so much? sigh... I am so regretful now. I hope next week isn't too late for us.

Golden Badge across my chest, if nothing goes wrong
Can't believe that the last time I blog was 2 mth ago. It has been a really busy and packed mth. Busy learning new things and applying them on seat. Then go for test.
Everything still feel like a dream. 2 mth of ago, my blog was still talking abt terminal phase (phase 1) of my course. Tdy, I am talking ending course. hahaha... with in a week, I completed theory and practical test. within 2 mth, I completed cac phase (phase 2) of my course. It is freaking fast.
CAC phase is totally different from terminal phase. Different ball game, different airspace we are talking abt. The RT can some times be very mouthful. Almost every slot, I will create new terminology, which will flip everybody off the chair.
1. ....c/s for tiger's leap east. -> dragon (c/s) leap east.
Sometimes I think talk faster than my head can process. So to keep everything short and sweet, I combine 2 things tgt. This happened during one my self slot with chan. I was requesting clearance for dragon flight of 2 for tiger's leap east, but it slip off my mouth and became, request clearance for dragon leap east. Both of us burst out laughing and all of the sudden, her a/c got a mayday call. And we went back to our seat to continue with our things. After the slot, it was spread ard and it follows me where ever I go.
2. 14 miles NW of TN
If you look at the map carefully, 14 mil NE of TN is Malaysia. But, apparently, whenever I try to give traffic information using TN, I will give the wrong cardinal point. It is suppose to be 14 mil SW of TN. Jeremy (psuedo pilot) always tease me abt it. During one of my assessment, OC was tapping into my frequency and he heard it too. Both of them laugh out loud and jeremy said it is my trademark. =\
3. There is no pural in callsign.
It all started from Andy!!! Who went eagles!!! The c/s of the aircraft is eagle. Eagle, formation of 2. And he went EAGLESSSSS. and... it is contagious. Even cpt Johnny had that virus too. During the debrief, he reminded us that it is EAGLE and not EAGLES. Then went on to pronuouce EAGLES. I went "sir, is eagle." He was like, shit-I-got-that-virus-too. hehehe...
4. Encouraging words from instructors.
a. Mr S wrote in one of my journal entry: "Kang, I have seen you improved from day to day. Keep up the good work. One more thing, make an effort for IPPT GOLD, you would probably be in for the SOH competition.. Go do it.. GOLD." "Keep it cool, you are doing ok! Go play bball."
b. Mr E sms (070411): "Good. You should make it. I don't see how you can fail. I have confident you will pass and do well in the ops unit." "Stay cool. You will get through. Believe me."
c. There is this particular day where Mr S came into the Sim room suddenly, out of the blue wanted us to set up the console to do a demonstration. He pointed at yao and scan ard the room, then pointed at me. I will do DEP and Yao will do ARR. SUPER nervous ah.. We will demo for a retired LTC and our present CO and OC. After that session, retired LTC praised both of us. wahhahaa... Felt so good. He even say my voice nice leh. whahaha.. (over the moon) Anyway, he was impressed with the standard and we did well. Even though, I had a a bad week of slot, I felt so good after this slot. ahahhaa.. At least, I didn't screw it up. hahaha.. Yao did well too...

End of 1st phase
One whole month of not blogging. I kinda of miss blogging. But at times, just to tired to blog. Now, due to the snowballing effect, I have so much things to write. So this entry might or might not be chronological order. It will be just anything that is funny and things that I can rmb. =p
1. Splitting into our vocations.
Although 20 of us belong to 5th AWO Radar course, there are 2 subset - weapons and ATC. I want to go ATC. I find it more useful and more practical. Chan is fine with ATC, weapon might need to go for jungle survival course. hahahaa.. Lim wants weapon. On the 2nd last day of our combine phase, we were given a choice to state our preference. This lim, just need to gain some attention to herself. She said she wanted weapon, but after chan and I state our preference, she suddenly asked if she cld change her answer or give her answer later. She think is buying fish from the mkt ah? hmmmm... Anyway... The instructor answered sth to her and quite embarrassing lah. So that night, each grp had their prayers. ATC preferred guys (incl me) pray that she gets into weapon; Weapon preferred guys prayed that she get into ATC. Really interesting. Anyway, the girls get wat we wanted. She went to weapons and we had ATC.
2. ATC Course
Just ended terminal phase of ATC. Trying to consolidate all the funny things that happened during our class. RT especially it a big joke.
Classic Shiyuan's RT
"Descend 3,000ft. Maintain heading and ALTITUDE." and the instructor went "what you want! what you want?!?!"
Classic Chai Hong's RT
"Mac Mac Mac.... MaChiChi.. call for transfer" This happened when my instructor pressured me saying "where you want the a/c to be transferred to you? where where where..." I gan chiong and said Machichi instead of MacRitchie.
"Formation of 2 Blackbird, for VR..." It should be "Blackbird formation of 2, for VR"
"MacRitchie identified, contact TN APP 263.4" It was suppose to be "Beaver, identified, contact TN APP 263.4"
"Turn right... correction. Turn left.." My left and right... hmmm... There was once, my instructor used his pen to knock my head 3x and warn me not to turn the a/c the wrong direction again!!!
There is not such thing as a Mayday call due to engine overcharge. It is engine overthrust. =\
Classic Cheryl's RT:
"..... Mayday call acknowledge. experiencing ____. track for south of pawai.... south of pawai... south of pawai...." She cldn't find the next sentence to the RT and repeated "south of pawai" many times, like a broken recorder.
And her classic scream when she max out. And also, she is getting louder and more aggressive, ie I can hear her from 2 consoles away. =) She now also can teach pple sia. When ken wanted to go for the landline, she will go "wait.. turn the a/c 1st..." or "transfer.. faster transfer.."
Classic Desmond's RT:
"All Station, TN APP, heli ops...." Usually you use this method when you have quite a number of a/c in your hands and you have to pass traffic info. But that day, desmond only had 1 a/c on his frequency, one still departing but yet to contact him and the other one flying in D4 yet to contact him too. So when he did that, the instructor pat his back and asked him how many a/c he had. Then he realised he only had 1, and he went "All stations". Super funny.
If you think our RT are funny, some of us had some funny gesture on the seats.
Classic James's style:
Taking the pen and 'tek tek tek' on the table or the head or the keyboard.
Classic Chai Hong's style:
Para Para dance on the seat, trying to figure out left/ right
If not it will be like chasing away housefly with left/ right hand to figure out clock code.
Sometimes, when using the footpad, I will miss the step or slip and go "bang". Hit myself on the metal casing or a loud stamp on the floor.
Classic Cheryl's style:
"ahhh..." and put her hands on her head.
Classic Common style:
Stamping on the footpad, especially when we are gan chiong.
Most of the time, James, yaoming, cheryl and I will team up for self slot. James will 'fly' the plane, I give RT and Cheryl control and ym will observe. So had lots of fun during self slot when we try to max one another out. Then James and I will try to be very mean to mix and match the different profiles and see how cheryl can deconflict them. So we will keeping blaming the other party of being the more mean one. And when ym does his slot, we are out to kill him "hor li si!!"
When we outside of class, cheryl and I also have lots of funny moments in the bunk. I think we are able to consolidate them all and published it as a book liao.
1. There was once, cheryl was so tired and we had to go for breakfast before parade, she woke up and washed up. Then wore her shoes without putting on the PT shorts. She only had her tights and singlet on her lah. Silly girl.
2. I changed into my No.3 for lesson. Was abt to walk out of the room only to be reminded by cheryl that I still had my slippers on. =\
3. During Dec, rainy days is a torture to Cheryl. She hates cold bath. hahaha.. Which also make her innovative. She came up with a portable heater idea. She filled her 2 1-litre bottles with warm water and bring it into the shower. And most of the time, I will know if she is bathing or avoiding the water, by listening. She classified as I peak at her bath. o.O
4. I am a great pretender of sleep. Many of the times when lim wants to ask a qn, I am already pretending to sleep on the bed and chan just had to entertain her. One of the classic moment was one of the 1st few book in. Chan made a comment that she will ask funny qn like "have you signed the book-in-book-out book?" or "need to sign the book-in-book-out book?" Our plan was to sleep b4 she comes in. I switched off the light and 'slept'. Soon, she came in and went to talk to chan as she was coughing, which means she is awake and she asked exactly what chan had predicted. I almost burst out laughing lah. I controlled. Then, after a while, she came in again and whispered cheryl's name a few times again. I cld hear she is quite irritated by it too. Lim's qn was "what time must we wake up for 5bx." I was like, what a qn lah... =\ So chan says the next time, she will put a post-it pad, which wrote "Do not disturb. You can talk to Chai Hong who is pretending to sleep." hahaha....
5. Cheryl is the monkey. She will smuggle bananas up to the room. So gross and disgusting. =\
Funny conversation with the instructors.
1. During one of my presentation.
Mr E "ahhhh... there is a uni-grad here right. So chai hong, tell me what is the different b/w excited and nervous."
Me "speechless..."
2. During one of the assessment.
I had mine the day b4. Cheryl had it the next day. So I went to talk to her b4 the session start. Then Mr E came to take Cheryl.
Mr E "Chai Hong.. Tdy I take you."
Me "Sorry sir, I took mine yesterday."
Mr E "Wah.. Why you run away from me.. Nvm, next test I take you."
Me "But sir, next test is on mon. It's your bday, and you are off."
Mr E "Oh yah.. You are lucky. Nvm, the next next one then."
From that day onward, I am being aimed.
3. During the 1st practical exam.
I was prepared to take Mr E, but Mr S said he will take me. So I changed my seat.
Mr E "Aiya... Chai Hong, why you run away from me again. Tdy I good mood. I let you mark yourself leh."
Me "Sir.. I wanted to take you. I even warm the chair too.... (then I forget what he said)
....
Mr S "Tmr no test. All the instructor will go collect money at singapore pools."
Me "wah.. Mr E then tmr I must take your slot. Can score better."
Mr E "why?"
Me "Cos you win money mah. Then you will give me better mark."
Mr E "wahhahaa.. I like you attitude. Very positive."
Mr S "hhahaa... then if he didn't strike, you die..."
Me "dumbfound"
All the instructor and those that was preparing for the test laughed at me lah. =D
4. Speechless a/c briefing
Was discussing abt the profile if there is a speechless a/c. Mr S said there will only be another speaking unit tgt with the speechless a/c. But pple like Chai Hong, she will have 3 other speaking units. *jaw drop*
During the actual assessment, Mr S was my instructor. He played a few scenario on me, which was quite funny as my a/c keep teleported to Pt Bravo. And there was this incident whereby there are no other a/c accept the speechless a/c and I had to cfm his previous callsign. So I had no choice but to ask the speechless a/c if he is within the Singapore airspace. And Mr S burst out laughing.
5. 5 of us passed the test and was in the classroom when Mr E came in.
Mr E "Chai Hong you pass ah... Cheryl you also ah. I thought I was told to take Cheryl for guided slot? How did you all do yest?"
Me "Not so good. the 1st one was better. 2nd one abit screw up."
....
Then he left the room after teasing the girls. After while he came back and told us to do the EODD nicely for the 6th AWO course which is starting soon. So I went over the computer and started to do and he came back again.
Mr E "hmmm.. I need sb to be in charge of this. who..."
Pause... Silence..
Mr E "Ahhh.. Chai Hong.. I put you in charge..."
Me "yes sir."
Not long, he came back again and said that we shld find one of the nights out to go out and celebrate.
Mr E "don't worry.. I will pay for my own share..."
Me "aiya... Sir, I thought you will say you will treat us for dinner."
He march into the room,
Mr E "ooi... You know the math or not. I pay for 10 pple cheaper or you all pay for my share cheaper?"
Me "hahhaa... yes sir... sorry sir..."
6. During Andy's slot with Cpt J.
Cpt J "relax... if you are really nervous, can freeze."
Andy "Freeze" over the frequency.
Those who were ard there burst out laughing. Cpt J went to pat his shoulder and said "wah.. you really very nervous."
There are still many funny incidents that happen. But apparently, I cannot rmb them all. I hope I can recall all of them. Then jot them all down. =)

Life in AFTC
Can't believe I didn't blog for so long. So many things have happened over the 3 weeks in AFTC. 45 of us reported to AFTC on 20th dec and only 20 of us will start the course. Others will have to wait for the next in take. I am lucky to have cheryl chan with me in the course. Need to thank Ivan for 'fighting' to put one more girl into the list. If I have to be stuck with cheryl lim for 26 weeks I will either strangle her or strangle myself. Anyway... 3 of the girls shared 1 room. The room was super dirty lah. Now.. It is sparkling clean, at least for chan and my side. =p
1st week was all lesson. The only exercise we had was 5 bx in the morning. At times we will find ways to skip it and then we got caught.
I had to notify one of my instructors abt my knee too, just in case the exercise gets more tedious. I will see an MO if I had to. Till now I am not going to the MO cos I want to play bball. hahaha... Chan and I are like a couple full of joke. I had to nag and stop her from eating chocolate and chicken cutlet while she stopped me from playing bball. There was once, I had to pull her out of the mess to stop her from stealing kok wei's chicken cutlet. And just to play bball, chan and I made a big joke and entertainment.
During one of the game, I was given that freedom to play for 30min but I cannot run or jump. I was having lots of fun in court while chan sat outside the court to watch. Then, there is this moment whereby there is a huge lobang on the right (everybody crowd on the left) and the ball was passed to me. Bball instinct strike me and for 2 sec, I bounce and ran with the ball for a quick layup on the right. INSTANTLY, chan stood up and pointed her finger "ORH~". Everyone on the court looked at her and at me and "orh..." pointed at another guy, yao ming, and say why you run. They quickly took the ball away from me and try to cover up for me. But chan being a super smart and sharp girl, didn't buy that and really pull me off the court, even when the game was still on. *jaw drop* Argued my way, defended my stand but it doesn't matter to her. I violated the rule and I am given a red card off the court. *frown* So the guys had no choice but to carry on w/o me and I guai guai went back to the bunk with chan.
After that incident, it was super hard for me to join the guys for a game. So James came up with some codes to communicate among the guys and me so that I will know when and where to play.
I, on one hand have to find ways to sneak away from chan's radar to meet the guys to play. The guys on the other hand, have to come up with secret code to tell me info abt the time and venue w/o letting chan knows. And chan will have to stop me b4 I further injured myself. So the most recent bball game, I was so close to sneak away when one of the guys slip out the code. He went to James (we were sitting tgt for dinner) and asked "what time is ops tdy? 1900?" B4 that Tanky and James were already talking in code word ie tanky was saying "I will return you your blue pen at 1900." blue pen is referred to as bball. So at 1830, the cover was blown. Chan knew it and she warned "if I see hong missing from the room for more than 1 hr, I will go over to grab her back." *jaw drop*
The moment, I went to the room and see chan busy on the phone, I changed. But b4 I can get out of the room, I was stopped by chan's fierce stare. *yikes* No matter how I persuade, just like a little kid wanting sweet from the parents, she won't give way. She know me too well.. Even gg down to watch also cannot ah!!! Then she sms shaline abt the whole thing. Sharks... Shar called me and nag at me for a long and big time. Both my ears are used up with 2 person nagging at me. What a torture. I had went to the extent to sit on the floor and stamp my feet lah. But no means no!!! ARRGHHHH... After 1 hr plus of persuading, I gave up. Took my towel and went to bath. =(

OH... we had our 1st test after 1 week of lectures. So my xmas's weekend was burnt and spent with lecture notes. The rule is simple. Throughout 26 weeks in AFTC, we will have 3 theory test. We are given 1 lifeline from the test. So if you fail the 2nd time, you are out of course. Super stress... Really need to study hard.
The result was out after a few days. Most of us passed, 6 of us just passed and 1 failed. I cldn't believe chan and lim was one of the 6 whom just passed. o.O They are the smart one leh... Chan didn't do well, probably due to medication. hmmm.. But nvm.. At least she passed and there is still chance to do well. =)
Lim on the other hand, made a fool of herself during a debrief session b4 gbad and c3 student split up. She made herself look stupid in front of the panel and it just reflect badly on JC students and how navie she is. where got student ask the teacher to get use to our learning style? And in the new age of learning and teaching, there is no longer spoon feeding teaching. The teacher will tell you what you need to know and the rest is all up to you to go and ask and find out liao. sigh... I told my mom that lim has throw all jc student face and guess what my mom said. she said "it's ok.. You no longer jc student. You uni grad liao." *applause*
IPPT again... This time got money one.. BUT!! I got cheated by the big yellow stopwatch that I missed my 2.4km gold timing by 10s. How lucky cld I get? I had my best shuttler run timing of less than 10s yet, I screw up my run. If not I wld have gotten my gold ippt badge and don't need to kana suan by that stupid lim. I was upset with the timing and she came to me and said "why you nv pace me? I running very slow tdy liao. and I wasn't feeling very well.. hard to breath." I am super duper buay song!!! I am so gg for another try to get gold!! *idoit*
B'cos I am uni grad, I will commission with 2 bar. So all my coursemate all teasing me and start to call me Mdm. And since I am older than them, they keep calling me Da Jie. Also, many of them are discussing abt taking LSA while I asked abt furthering my studies. Shi Yuan said that every time I asked abt doing Masters or getting another degree, Lim will have a different look at her face (I don't know is envy or buay song look) and he is just happy that I am one edge above her! What a cheap trill. More and more guys are getting turn off by her. Many had their gun barrel pointed at her. It is just a moment of when to 'shoot' at her. Some had even turn their rifle to automated mode.
My patience for her is using up. Getting on my nerves almost every day. She wants to much attention. And she don't listen to what you are talking and just want to get into the conversation. My opening speech to her is always "no..." or "didn't you hear me say this?" b4 I can tell her wat is gg on. But in the very 1st place, it wasn't a conversation among us, but just b/w chan and me. There was once, a guy came to ask me sth, but b4 I can ans, she ans on behalf of me. I kept my cool and another guy just happen to be near strike a conversation me. Once again, she ans it b4 I cld. I am like.. What's up with you? nvm.. You want to talk and have all eyes on you, go ahead, just don't come act cute with me.
She is super dirty too... Fabreze is her super good fren. Spray every now and then on her clothes. I don't see her wash clothes. and she spray deodorant like spraying baygon. There was once, chan not feeling well, sleeping on the bed. She got choked by her spraying of deodorant. *power*
Oh... Chan and I had a classic joke in AFTC too. Last time in SAFTI, we wore the same tag uniform to class. This time, we threw our clothes into the dryer to WASH. I repeat.. "DRYER to wash our clothes". Aren't we smart!!! =) hahahaa...

One week break
My one week break was fully packed. My mom is complaining that I was hardly at home. And I ate like nobody business and spend like money drop from the sky.
Sat was daddy's birthday. We had Sushi Teh for lunch. Yummy... =)
Sun was Chester's and Yuan Yuan's wedding. It was a glamorous wedding. And it has the sword bearers. I want one at my wedding too.. Provided my husband-to-be also military right? =\ sigh... Anyway.. It was also a great meet-up-session with the bball gang. So happy to see ling and amanda. Felt sad for Amanda who just broke up with Qilin. Sigh.. I wonder what went wrong.. Hope to see them back tgt.
Mon, met up with Chan to celebrate our graduation from service term, ippt gold and new wishes for the coming pro-term. I went to meet up with Pc in the afternoon, over lunch. Nice catch with her, poh hoon and auntie rebecca. Then rushed down to cine to met Chan for our movie marathon. We watch Narnia and then Rapunzel. Narnia was good. Though I missed out book 2. Rapunzel wasn't as bad as I thought. Apparently, very nice show!!! I love the use of the frying pan!!! Rapunzel is like the modern warrior. Dare to try and navie at the same time. hahahaa... Then We had ikoi for dinner and indulged ourselves with sashimi and delicious food!!! Hope we are buddy again, roomie again and study mate again!!! *pray hard hard*
Tue, met up with chinx, fish and ter. Again.. We went to ikoi for dinner. I got a bit sick of sashimi. hahahaa... And they just have to haolian their smartphone vs my toy phone. =(
Wed was a break. ahhaha.. Stayed home to spring clean my room. Quote from Chan, "Hiroshima hit my room." Some wld say WW III, while some say it is Standby Universe. I say, Earthquake. It is a round of Everything OUT and then Everything in nicely pack. Late afternoon, head out with my dad to catch Harry Potter part 1. Woah.. I can't wait for Part 2 to be out!!! Evening, after dinner, drove out to meet missy and shaline for desert. It is their nights out. =)
Thurs is meeting with jc gang. Yy, qi, shan, tomo and I met at bugis for steamboat. B4 that, I went to the sinseh to have my knee cap treated, without my parents knowing it. Then I went for my haircut that ended in 30min. With so much time to spare, I head down to Suntec city to shop in the bookfest. Bought 8 books, 5 of which belong to chan. I managed to squeezed everything into my crumpler bag. Even the cashier was surprise when I said I don't need to the plastic bag. hahahaa... Steamboat was not really up to standard, but the company is more important. =) Thanks to yy and qi for their gifts. Yy came back from tokyo with our gifts and qi had an interesting x'mas gift for us, which is a victoria secret moisturizer. We celebrated shan's b'day early too. She was so happy. After that we had desert and it was time for us to go home.
Fri is a special day for Chu Yue and Wei Qiang. It's their wedding!!! Went down early to help them with the reception. Gary, bok, raye and glenn tried to 'play' wq with alcohol drink, but failed. hahaha.. Cy had that teacher instinct in her and gary just have to pull his ear and stand at one corner. But then, they did come back after the wedding shoot to play a while. So not too bad lah.. =p
Sat is another busy day again. Afternoon was Josyln's baby 1 mth celebration. Little Matthew is so cute... And I just have to try to poke him or irritated him so that he will wake up and play with me. I raise the hands, legs and tickle him. hahaha.. Jos is so gg to kill me. hahaha.. And whenever, little matthew cry, I will hursh and pat him to sleep again b4 jos come running after me. hahaha.. =p Then, I head down to PS. Since it is still early, I shopped ard for a gift for ltr secondary school gathering. I bought wine... hahaha.. After 7-8 yrs of graduating from NBSS, we met up again. Most of them are like getting married lah.. Out of 43 of us, only 6 turned up. =( But at least we had some catch up. heee... Shuting, yap liping, quiling, serena and chew lian.. At the same time we celebrated Shuting's birthday and got her to stand on the chair and sang her a b'day song. hahaha... During gift exchange, they 'sian qi' my gift.. cos it is not portable. =( It is wine leh!! aiyo.. don't know how to appreciate. ahhaha.. =p I had a portable electrical hair straightening iron. hmmmm....
Sun.. Tdy... Went to the temple for year-end-praying. Then I stayed home to pack my bag!! IT IS SUPER HEAVY AND I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS SO MUCH THINGS!!!

Last week of service term
Time flew extremely fast. It is now the last week for service term. Few interesting happening and let's see how much my brain can rmb.
1. Compass test and Navex
It is really fun. I enjoyed myself during the 2 days. Compass test remind me that every time you get a compass rmb to calibrate it. If not like me and Jian Sheng, 2 rt away from the actual pt. It was a lucky that JS and I had the same route. So we help one another out. =)
Navex at mandai was cool. I was given the task to navigate to the 1st checkpt tgt with Alvin. And we managed to reached safe. hahaaa... cross small streams and chopped some trees. Took us quite some time but when we found it, we were happy!!! =) Our eyes were quite tired after that, so the next pair took over. I enjoy being the follower. hahaa.. =p
So when alvin and I were the navigator, we enjoyed 'controlling' our teammates. hahaa.. we will tell them to walk in a direction and ask them to stop at any pt we like. I rmb there is this pt near the edge of a cliff, I asked Andy lim to walk.. Without noticing, I keep telling him a bit more to the left and left and left.. Then he reply, "cannot left liao. Left some more drop." =p
Then next few checkpt was quite near to each other and easy. When we sit down and rest for lunch, Kah Min and I will gossip. Abt who? hmmm... cannot say. ahahaa.. we shall see how it goes.. =p Alvin also very gossipy. Joined in and try to encrypt our conversation. very 3 8 lor.. =\ At our 3rd checkpt, as we start to look for our clue, it started to rain, quite heavily. Was told to make our way back to the gather pt. Chan's team was super fast. They finished everything by 1300 while we were only doing our 2nd checkpt. So in the end, our team finished only 2 out of 4 cos the 3rd one, we cldn't find the number.
As it was raining, we were told to find shelter under the canopy and sit down. This lim hor... don't know what's up w her, keep moving ard. From one seat to another, from siting to high kneel and then to siting. I classified it as a 'dog behaviour' trying to mark her territory. Ivan say I very mean. I told chan after that, she also say I very mean.. Fine... I am mean... I shall try not to be too mean next time. =x
2. Stair Climbs
This week, we have another 2 more 2x10 stair climb at the stairway to heaven. But don't know if Heaven is helping us or not, cos it rained and we did it in wing line. Which is equivalent to 2x18 up and down 4 lvl of stairs. Basically, my left shoulder cannot take it. Lt Jeremy asked if I want to fall out when he saw me holding my arm. NO way I'm gg to fall out lah. *Echo after PA*
3. Sports and Games Day
Since it is the last week, things are a little more slack. heeee... and lots of the matters are concerning the Aircrew. So we get to play, and nua in bunk. heee.. =) I'm lov'in it. heeee... Sports and Games are the best. Played Frisbeeeeeee... 1st day was fun.. 2nd day.. oops.. I sprain my right knee cap. Just one day b4 the parade. I cont to play limping.. And we had inter-flight game. FLIGHT 3 WON EVERYTHING!!! We are the best. whahaha... Won a t-shirt. =) yeah...
4. Parade
Senior bar parade. I woke up with stiffness on my right knee.. I am totally doomed. Counterpain, muscle rub and painkiller... Whatever it takes for me to be on that parade. Really quench my fist and bite my teeth while doing the whole parade. I am once again reminded that I am not young anymore. hahahaa...
5. Everything out of bunk
Packing up is a lot of work. There is so much rubbish to clear. And apparently that Lim and Wini don't help. It is always chan and me. Sigh.. It is getting quite irritated. =\ We were also given nights out to either have fun outside or bring your stuff home. I chose to stay in and eat pizza, sleep and wash the clothes. Chan came back with liang cha and nuggets for me. I love her. hahaa... =p
6. Social Night
Social night members get to book out earlier than the rest to prepare the place. I got home ard 3plus and rushed out at 5. Have to reach the hotel by 5.30pm and I am so late. ahhaha.. I still went to pick up BM along the way and holanded. I reached the hotel at 6.30pm. Oops... and ignore the pain in my leg, I fast march to get everything done.
Thank you to Gary to agree to be my partner for the day. He is quite entertaining and played along with me well. Thanks again. Chan dressed up really beautiful that day. And really engross with her date, Tim. BM was classy and she took Gary's breath away. hahahaa... Now Gary is always asking me to ask her along to our gathering. =\ Kristy's date was Shaline. Missy and HX came to be last min date for 2 guys. hahahaa.. We had a so-call mini-scorpion gathering.
Highlight of the night was Chan winning Best dressed. Winston (Wendy) had lots of pple queueing for him but he is still a him so chan was the next in line. Lim had only 1.. I repeat!! 1 person in the line to support her and that person was her bf. *ouch* truth hurts. BM had a long queue too. Basically, the scorpion girls spread ourselves out. ahhaha... Our table sort of sabo chan up. Chan was suggesting to call for lim so that she can get the attention. The moment she said this, I told her I am gg to call for her name. Shaline immediately shouted her name and the whole table followed thru. whahaha... BM was called by other table.. See how hot she is... I guess John's table shouted for Lim. Then when lim won the Ms Airwing tgt with Toon Ee (work of john), nobody was listening to her speech. It came out like a half-suaning-pple-not-up-to-standard-suaning skill speech. So it is either not funny or you don't understand kind of speech. Gary laggi best. He made the "over-run" sign and said no time. Our table burst out laughing.
2nd highlight was chan singing. Not too bad.. But I think she shy.. hahaha.. Then BM and her date won some lucky draws.. And the happiest person was MISSY... She won the potluck dip!!! Hurray...
The whole thing ended ard 10plus. Took some photos and left. I insisted of driving gary home and he insisted of paying for his share then. Aiyo.. Make me so paiseh lah...
Overall, it was an enjoyable night. =)

OCS Nov (part 2)
I have lots to write, but apparently after writing OBS, I kana forget all of them. Let me think abt it again.
2. Test result.
Been mugging for the past 2-3 weeks for 2 test. 1st test fail, you will kana confinement over the weekend to study for test 2. I was lucky.. I passed the 1st one 31/50 and the 2nd one I got 33/50. Wini got a bit unlucky for the 1st one, scoring 24/50. So she kana confinement over the weekend.
3. 7 km Endurance run
I cannot believe how suai I am lah. If you fail 7km run, confinement too. My 1st run was 50.07, passing 48.59. =( RT on sat, I ran 49.07. WTF!!!! I failed by 0.08s. How lucky can that be. I was last person to come in and 2 pple running with me during the last run. Mon had another 7km run. This time, cheryl chan insist of running with me. Super stress... I really scare she fail b'cos of me. Every now and then she will say "chai hong faster... you are slowing down... chai hong no time liao.. Hurry up..." And she really keep track of the timing. She helped me pass. =) I love her deep deep ah!!! 48.35 =) This morning, had my RT run again. We have to pass 2 7km run during service term. This time, the whole wing was confinement due to disciplinary issue. So cheryl didn't run with me but stood at the water point and nag at me again.. Wini failed her 2nd 7km run so she ran tdy too. She is super fast lah. 1min lag time and she caught up with me. I was super stress lah. In the end we came in tgt and I improved my timing again. =) 47.48
4. Wing confinement
Whole wing kana tekan on wed. Due to accumulative disciplinary acts. Kinda of expected to be coming sooner or later. So we did pushed up, run round the parade sq, mountain climbing and hold push up position most of the time. I nv knew how tiring guys' push up position can be until I tried it that day. Heard the guys and Lt jeremy, I was the only girl doing the guy's push up position while the other girls did the girls style. I insisted of doing that, cos I want to know how it is like and test my endurance lvl. The guys can see that I was struggling lah, but don't know what got into me, I hang on there. So we were punished for moving in the file, talking loudly, not discipline enough, always litter and so on and so forth. I simply cannot understand why the guys have to talk so much and talk more than the girls. sigh...
5. Road March
12km road march was quite ok. 1st 4km was tiring due to the heat. At our 1st rest pt, met up with the girls in sispec. =) Thanks to the staff officer, she seek permission from Lt Siow for me to go talk to the girls for a while. I ran there excitedly. They were doing obstacles in the field and were really happy to see one another. After that I have to get back and cont with the road march. ard 6km, it started raining. Back at 1st rest point, we had our 2nd rest. Suppose to be just 15min of rest, but due to cat 1, we hang ard the training shed for 1hr plus. Chit chat session with Lt Jeremy. Like that session.. =)
After road march, my feet had 4 new blisters. Painfully sia... Plus still need to wear heels.. I really don't know what my legs have done to get all these torture lor.. =\
6. Uniform
Heels are not suitable for sotong legs, honesty. Been wearing the heels and limping or shld I say walk awkwardly. Sometimes, I even have to fall out from the march cos I just cldn't keep in step and it is really painful to walk in it. And what the girls usually will do is, once we fall out and at hotel wing, we will take out our heels and walked up the stairs. You nv know how good sport shoes are until you are tortured by the heels. The heels gave me 4 blisters. So altogether with the blister from road march, I have 7 blisters. *plaster-fied*
7. bitch abt cheryl lim
Well.. another session abt her again. hahaha... she scare of ghost. But when the guys talk abt ghost story, she stood near them or they crowd ard her to talk abt it. My logic is, if you are scare, walked away or don't listen. Don't pretend pretend. And then at night scare and want to bunk in with the girls. One night she bunk in with BM and totally disturb her sleep. Another night or 2 other nights, she bink in with wini. Apparently, I don't think she dare to disturb cheryl chan and me. Think we probably will ignore her and if really let her bunk in, we will purposely step on her when we wake up. hehehe...
8. BBQ Night
Farewell session for ME trainees. Food was well-prepared and it is heaven to have it after road march. =) I was drinking coke and telling BM how heavenly it was to have coke after road march and it was heard by Lt fegan when he walked passed and he laughed. *oops* Then the organiser came up with this voting system: Best couple; Mr/Miss Sunshine; Best appointment holder. We sabo su xian and her bf, bing zhang for couple award. Then we thought of Cheryl chan and zhong qing and sabo-ed them. But in the end, we sabo-ed all the girls (except lim). I was matched up with Alvin ever since they asked if he is my kind of guy. O well.. It is a pity that he is just 19. =(
Ok tt shld be all the updates, hopefully. Meals when we met up with midswing pple don't need to write down all details cos it is just bitch session for us. hahahaa..
